How to restart Hang Desktop

• Press alt + ctrl + delete, to get the task manager.
• End the process explore.exe from process.
• Run new task from file option.
• Just type c:\windows\explore or explore.exe or explore.This will restart  desktop.

When and why this happen:-

When your system’s CMOS battery is dead, at that time your system showings you default old date in system tray. So default date is not matching with current date. That’s why security certificate for current date is invalid.

How to resolve this problem:-

Go to the system tray and double click on date and change the date to current date.  And change the CMOS battery as soon as possible.

Most computers have something like 64 or 128 MB of RAM available for use by CPU. Often, that amount of RAM is not sufficient to run all of the programs that users expect to run at once.

If you set the virtual memory to double to the actual RAM size then it gives better performance of your computer. If you set the virtual memory to more than double or less than the double of actual RAM size then it will decrease your computer performance .So set the initial size and maximum size of virtual memory to double of actual RAM size (i.e., if your computer has 256 MB of RAM then set the initial size and maximum size of virtual memory to 512 MB) and enjoy better performance of your computer.

How to set the virtual memory

1) Right click on my computer, go to properties.

2) Click on advanced option

3) first performance setting option for virtual memory

4) Then in next window ,select advanced, click on change

5) Select custom size, set initial size and maximum size to double of RAM for C: drive

6)  ‘Set’ button, then click ‘OK’ button.

7) Restart your system for changes to take effect.

We all know very well just because of images and flash content, pages take lot of time to load. Glype Proxy seems to be a good tool to bypass proxy, and has few options with that it is possible to view pages without, images, flash, and scripts. It also provides option to disable or enable cookies. So if you want better result, click on remove images and flash, scripts. Although including cookies increase your browsing speed but I will say disable cookies in order to get safe browsing.

Where it is useful

To access banned site in office or colleges. For slower internet (low bandwidth) connections, it’s difficult to open any website quickly, at that time it is useful. Some time it might happen your internet speed is good, but still some websites taking time to upload because they include images and flash, so to open such websites it is useful.

1) Right click on my computer, go to properties

2) Select hardware option

3) Click on device manager

4) Then you will see the number of missing drivers with yellow question mark (?)

5) Click on one that you want to install

6) Use update driver option by making right click on it or using shortcut option

7) Then select option disc if it is available otherwise give option internet.

8 ) After finding driver, install it.

9) Also always use internet option to update drivers.

Which will work and why?

Monzilla firefox is which has a feature ‘pipelining’ which really makes it faster than another browser. By default it is disabled, so enable it to get good results.

Enable pipelining and increase pipelining maxrequests

Like in processors pipelines concept is there to fast execution of instructions so processor ultimately execute programs fast. Same concept is used in firefox to get fast result.

Open your firefox browser, type about: config in address bar. Then you will get filter option, type network in filter .then find network.hhtp.pipelining option in below list and make it enable by changing its value false to true. Just below that second option is network.http.pipelining.maxrequests, change its value 4 to 10 to increase pipeline maximum

On other hand any web resource you can access can collect personal information about you. They can monitor your reading interests, spy upon you, may deny accessing any information you might need. Sometimes it happens that you forget your bios password or anyone will give password to your computer without your knowing. At that time it is difficult to get that password. 4) Change the position of jumper which lies on motherboard and start your computer. Before next start again change places the jumper to its original place and you will find that bios password get erase. It is shown in below picture original position and changed position.

I don’t need to tell causes of improper shutdown, right ???? It happened with me twice. First I thought it happen due to lose power connection problem or cable fault. I keep working on it then I realize it happen because some system files get corrupt. After that I reboot my system to recover that files. Now it’s working properly.

Lot of times system files get infected or corrupt due to viruses and improper shutdown. So always shutdown your system properly and use real time antivirus software to keep your system safe from viruses.So i will suggest to use good antivirus and use power backup for your computer

When we are installing software, tools in our system then we are always receiving some pop-up messages to keep that software updated. We are clicking on it for ok, cancel, not now, ignore, and ask me later, abort.

Sometime hackers send you such Pop-messages to hack your system. When you click on ok, cancel, not now, ignore, and ask me later, abort .These buttons include some different code that you don’t know. When you are clicking on any button, that code get activated and simply they hack your computer. Like this they hack your all data and everything.

For example, when you send any comment then I will get your IP address with that I can send any Pop message to hack your computer.

SO????

1) When you are not sure about Pop-messages then don’t click on any button.

2) Simply close with alt+f4.

3) For more securities always hide your IP-Address.

Sometime it might happen that our internet speed is good but accessing information is slower. It depends upon browser. When first time I am using internet browser, at that time I noticed that what I upload it looks different than I uploaded. Now days I am using monzilla firefox, it feel good but i need to add more plug-ins. Here I want to explain one things that make your any browser fast .But make sure for these your RAM is sufficient

Increase the size of folder “temporary internet files”

Temporary file folder acts like cache for your browser. When you request for any page first it searches in this folder .If it is available then you can access it easily otherwise request goes to sever. As you increase its size, it will store maximum internet temporary files which increase your browser speed

First go to control panel, find internet option .then you will find setting option in general to increase the size of temporary internet files folder.

Fragmentation is caused by creating and deleting files and folders, installing new software, and storing various files, downloading files from the Internet. Computers do not necessarily save an entire file or folder in a single space on a disk; they’re saved in the first available space. After a large portion of a disk has been used, most of the subsequent files and folders are saved in pieces across the volume. When you delete files or folders, the empty spaces left behind are filled in randomly as you store new data. The more fragmented the volume is means the slower the computer’s file input and output performance.

Disk fragmentation leads to system slowdowns, PC crashes, slow startups and shutdowns.

Fragmentation makes the disk drive heads move too much when reading files which turn to system crashes. It is important to keep your disks defragmented and optimized as much as possible.

Defragmentation is the process of rewriting non-contiguous parts of a file to contiguous sectors on a disk for the purpose of increasing data access and retrieval speeds.

Some defragmenters also try to keep smaller files within a single directory together, as they are often accessed in sequence. Defragmentation reduces data access time and allows storage to be used more efficiently.

When we need to do defragmentation

What I found is lot of peoples doing defragmentation regularly but my experience says that doing defragmentation regularly is also damage disk because it does this by physically reorganizing the contents of the disk to store the pieces of each file close together and contiguously. It will create bad sector in disk, make problem in data reading, and also decrease magnetic flux around disk.

Defragmentation required to keep your disk faster and safe. So I will suggest you, do fragmentation when you face slow startups and shutdowns, system slowdowns, slower data access. Also lots of free utilities are available for defragmentation, so use good one.

Clean the RAM of your computer

Once in a blue moon, you required to clean your RAM. Like when programs get dump into your RAM and then you are facing problem to start your computer.

There are three reasons to clean your RAM

1) To remove dust.

2) To remove moisture from RAM specially in rainy season

3) If you see carefully RAM has some golden metal part and it get current when your computer is working. Sometime due to sudden voltage drop, it is possible to RAM is get coated with carbon. .So to remove carbon from RAM, clean it.

Usually clean your RAM with eraser or soft cloth not with any cloths or don’t use any liquid, liquid is always dangerous to any electronic components. Clean RAM with eraser or any soft cloth, is safe, it will give good result. Compressed air can use to clean your CPU cabinet.

• right click on empty space of screen ,select properties option, go to the setting, click on advanced option

• you will see DPI setting option ,in drop down box select custom setting

• one window will appear for custom DPI setting in that erase 100% so you will get 20 % there automatically and below that

• pixel setting will generate ,using left button of your mouse change it as per your requirement,like i keep it 107 % little bit big than normal size

If it is just matter of changing font size only, go to the Appearance tab, use advanced setting option to change size, color of message box, active window, and inactive windows per you

Sometimes your computer didn’t get shutdown properly, like because of power failure.When again you start your computer then it doesn’t start, but you realize that system’s CPU [processor and fan] is working. Because when your computer get shutdown improperly, at that time programs lies [dump] in RAM .where RAM is volatile memory, it means when power get turn off, all programs and data in RAM get erased .so when you start your computer again then unable to load operating systems programs .which results into you are not able to start your computer again.

How to resolve this problem

Open cabinet of CPU and remove RAM from motherboard as shown in blue rectangle in below picture, so it will get disconnect from power supply and place it again. So all programs get erased from RAM and able to load operating systems program when you start your computer again.

Precautions:-

· Always shutdown your computer properly.

· Use power back like UPS, to avoid problem like power failure.

How to resolve this problems

• First attempt to leave the computer on for 24 hours. In some cases this can charge the battery and resolve your issue.
• This often resolves CMOS battery related issues when a computer has been left off for several months.
• If it doesn’t work then change your computers cmos battery which is present on motherboard as shown in figure below. Changing cmos battery is really easy, take out old battery from socket with help of pin and place new one , just like old.
