Desktop hang is normal problem in windows (2000, xp etc). When I logging on, desktop never shows up, I am not able to access any application, even not able to access start menu. After small hard work, I understand that my desktop is hanged. Some time it might be happen that explore.exe is running in the background but still desktop is not appear.

How to restart Hang Desktop

• Press alt + ctrl + delete, to get the task manager.
• End the process explore.exe from process.
• Run new task from file option.
• Just type c:\windows\explore or explore.exe or explore.This will restart  desktop.
